outsource recipients

They make exceptional executives. Always on time, they have everything planned out – probably even have a plan on how to go about making a plan for a plan for the next day’s events. Who knows! These people will always know what it is that they can do, and thus, take up responsibilities accordingly. They won’t take more work than they can finish, and will always submit assignments on time. But they won’t compromise on their time-table, and emotions towards another’s plight may take a back-seat if they think that pity might cause them any back-log.

kiinda monotonous, doncha think? somehow, they never feel what is like to stay up all night finishing an assignment – and their minds are never stimulated by those last-minute pangs of fight-or-flight…figure their lives are too perfect for their own good!

Then there are the second type. The me type. If we think we possess the skills to take up the task, and probably finish it – we take it up. Can’t refuse work, and like to please everyone. The result – overworked, and perpetually late. But we’re sincere, and provide good results, even if a wee-bit delayed. We hate to leave people stranded, and that’s partly why we take up work even if we know that we’ll struggle to finish it – we probably care too much about the other fellow’s work never getting done, if we abandon him.

figure, i’m one fellow who falls into this category. evidently so, i am biased. :)

The third type. Won’t refuse the job. Maybe even, are the only people who possess the skill to complete it – partly why they are so massively complacent. Will take up the task on offer, but are too friggin’ full-of-it o finish it. they don’t care if it leaves the other guy stranded.

Why the heck did you take up the job, delay it, assure me you’ll finish it, and then leave me stranded…eh?

I had the misfortune of coming across an outsource recipient of the third type recently. Brilliant fella. And skilled in a field that only he knew. Poor me, the job i needed done required his assistance.
